Covington’s Kids in the Garden Workshops
Kids classes are designed as hands-on workshops for ages 5 to 10. There is a minimal fee of $5 per class to cover the cost of supplies; and pre-registration and payment is required since space is limited. Contact Mary at mary@covingtonnursery.com or 972-475-5888 Ext. 111. For refunds, cancellations must be received by 4 p.m. Thursday prior to class so we can fill space with another child. Kids must be accompanied by an adult.

Flowers & How They Grow
Saturday, June 8th - 9:30-10:30 am  
Learn how flowers grow, then plant flowers from seed, cutting & bedding plant to take home and nurture.

Miniature Gardens Part I
Saturday, June 29th - 9:30-10:30 am   Paint a fairytale cottage that will be the centerpiece for the miniature garden you plant in Part II. We will hold cottages until July 6th class.

Miniature Gardens Part II
Saturday, July 6th - 9:30-10:30 am   
Create your very own miniature garden with your painted cottage and little plants to take home and enjoy.

Growing Your Own Food
Saturday, July 13th - 9:30-10:30 am    
Discover where fruits and vegetables come from (before they get to your grocery store). Then plant a veggie seed and a tomato plant to take home and grow. 

Classes for the Grownups 
These classes are free and do not require pre-registration unless otherwise noted, and generally last about an hour with time included for questions. 

Crape Myrtle Day
Saturday, June 15th - All day event (Class 2:30-3:15 pm)
Neil Sperry, host of Texas Gardening on WBAP, and founding member and on the board of the Crape Myrtle Trails of McKinney, will share tips on selection, maintenance and care of crape myrtles.

Come and buy your crape myrtles on this special day and we’ll donate 10% of our crape myrtle sales to the Crape Myrtle Trails of McKinney!

Summer Yard Survival

Learn what you should do to prepare for fall planting in your veggie garden.

Texas Tough Perennials
Saturday, July 27th - 11 am   
Learn about gardening with native and perennial plants, those that attract butterflies and hummingbirds, and those that are rabbit and deer resistant. Take home a guide describing the best ones for North Texas. 

Miniature Garden Workshop ($25+ based on selections)
