A pineapple houseplant, grown from the crown of a pineapple (Ananas comosus), is a compact, tropical plant with spiky, strap-like leaves. It thrives indoors with bright, indirect light and warm temperatures. The plant prefers well-draining soil and needs regular watering, allowing the soil to dry slightly between waterings. Pineapples are slow growers, and it can take 2-3 years for the plant to produce a fruit, which forms on a central stalk. As a houseplant, the pineapple adds an exotic touch and, with patience, can yield a small, sweet fruit, enhancing its ornamental appeal.
