A compact evergreen that changes character through the seasons, opening with bright green spring growth that deepens to a rich glossy hue by summer, then lights up with neon yellow blooms in winter when little else is flowering. Deer-resistant and tolerant of both sun and shade, it adapts easily to foundation plantings, containers, or group plantings. Its flexible light tolerance makes it a versatile pick for the mixed sun-and-shade conditions common in North Texas yards.
