A robust, cold-hardy cactus that ranges from the arid Chihuahuan Desert of New Mexico and Texas to Colorado mountains. Imposing to say the least, the spine-covered cactus branches easily detach if brushed against. Vivid magenta blossoms, a boon to bees and other pollinators, emerge in late spring. Very cold hardy and adaptable.
