Japanese Hardy Green Banana
Musa basjoo
This single stalk forms clumps over time several feet wide with large, bold leaves to 2’ wide and 6’ long. Ideal for adding a tropical feel to any landscape. Fast growing and cold hardy. Nice in groups or as a single specimen. Will occasionally set fruit in North Texas. Cut back in winter after first freeze and cover with 6″ of mulch. Perennial.
