Plant of The Week – Peggy Martin Rose

Tough, gorgeous, and overflowing with blooms—Peggy Martin Rose is the climbing rose dreams are made of!

This beauty isn’t just about looks—it’s famous for its resilience. After surviving 20 feet underwater during Hurricane Katrina, it bounced back, blooming, which is why gardeners love it for North Texas landscapes. It easily handles our sun and heat and has an incredible floral show from spring through early summer.

Water regularly during the first growing season to establish a deep root system. Once established, it’s quite drought-tolerant.

Full sun is a must—6+ hours a day for the best blooms!

Plant in well-drained soil and give it room to climb—Peggy Martin can reach 12 to 15 feet tall and about 6 to 8 feet wide.

Perfect for arbors, fences, or trellises—Peggy Martin Rose adds timeless charm and effortless color to your garden.

Come and see why it’s our Plant of the Week—you’ll fall in love at first bloom!
