Maddie’s plant of the week is Rosemary Cones, which she loves for its aromatic smell. These plants are perfect for containers and can serve as an excellent “thriller” by being placed in the center of a large pot. To create a stunning cool-season color bowl, you can surround it with pansies, viola, ornamental cabbage, cyclamen, alyssum, snapdragons, and other plants.
Rosemary is a native Mediterranean evergreen that thrives in the sun and Texas heat, and it can usually tolerate our winter weather (but it’s best to cover or bring it inside if temperatures approach 20 degrees). To keep the plant healthy, water the soil only and avoid over-watering, as Rosemary prefers a dryer environment.
