When Steve first met Kay at her Plano home, she simply smiled and said she wished for a beautiful back yard that she could enjoy throughout the seasons of the year. Upon seeing the space, Steve immediately visualized the garden design that Kay wanted so very much!
The areas of Kay’s yard were divided by a covered breezeway. On one side of the breezeway was a drab and dated courtyard, on the other side was a non-descript rectangular shaped lawn surrounded by a wood fence.
Steve’s new design for the courtyard consists of:
• A new patio created with large slabs of Oklahoma flagstones
• Painted cedar trellises for blooming vines to climb
• A small natural looking boulder water feature to provide a cooling sound effect for the area
• Lots and lots of blooming plants
• The crowning touch was beautiful glazed ceramic pots filled with vivid displays of colorful seasonal flowers.
Walking through the breezeway in to the grassy rear yard, Steve created a circular flagstone sitting area, anchored by a raised stone firepit. Crape myrtle trees provide both shade and color, and completing the surrounding landscape are planting beds filled with an abundance of all types of beautiful flowering plants. Kay’s backyard dream is now a reality!
