Tami’s Plant Pick of the Week – Ivory Feathers Dwarf Pampas Grass

Tami says that when Ivory Feathers starts blooming this time of year, it’s a beautiful reminder that fall is just around the corner!   She loves how this compact pampas grass billows in the breeze, and that it is so easy care!

Ivory Feathers is a fast growing, perennial ornamental grass with fluffy white plumes in late summer and fall. This variety is shorter and more showy than standard pampas grass reaching only about 6 feet tall and 4-6 feet wide with a clumping growth habit.  It’s tough and durable, and adapts easily to most soil types, provided it is well-drained.  Ivory Feathers thrives in sunny conditions, and is wind and drought tolerant once established.

This dwarf pampas grass looks great when planted in mass as a natural screen, or it can be used individually as a visual accent in your landscape or around ponds.
