These cute little Kiowa Blackberry plants will turn into big delicious berries in no time, which is why they’re Nathan’s Plant Pick of the Week! Kiowas are prized for the deliciously GIGANTIC berries they produce. Fruiting usually starts in June and will last 6 weeks, keeping you flush in jams and pies for summer. These plants are loved not only for the berries, but for ease of growing, and versatility. They’re self-fertile, tolerate different soil types (as long as they’re all well-drained) and can take more shade than other fruit plants. They grow upright and won’t need to be trellised. On top of that you get to enjoy the beautiful showy flowers before berries start to grow. There’s no reason NOT to grow these beauties!
