Manny’s Plant Pick of the Week – Purple Pillar Althea

Manny likes em long and lean, which is why this gorgeous Purple Pillar Althea is her Plant Pick of the Week! Perfect for tight spaces, this Althea (also known as Rose of Sharon) will only get 2′ to 3′ wide and 10′ to 15′ tall, giving you a delightful column of color from top to bottom all summer long! They’re great for flanking a doorway, creating a screen or hedge, or even in a patio container; just make sure they get at least 6 hours of sun a day for the best flower production. Heat-tolerant, deer-resistant, and profusely blooming, the Purple Pillar Althea is an excellent choice for North Texas gardens and landscapes, and we’ve got them here at the nursery, with more arriving today or tomorrow. Check inventory here and let our Tree & Shrub staff show you these and all the other Altheas that are just starting to open up!
