Luke’s Plant of the Week – Shoal Creek Vitex

Have you seen those beautiful purple/blue flowers popping up around town? Those are from the Shoal Creek Vitex, which happens to be our Plant of the Week! It’s also known as Texas Lilac or Chaste Tree. This tree/shrub can grow up to 15-20 feet tall and 15 feet wide, making it a great accent or centerpiece for any landscape. It attracts pollinators like bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Plus, it’s heat and drought-tolerant, low-maintenance, and adapts to most soil types. You can see them in person in our Tree and Shrub area. If the Shoal Creek is too big, we also have other varieties that are smaller at maturity.
You can check our complete inventory of all Vitex varieties here.
