Ashley and David of Sunnyvale love to be outside, whether it’s playing with their children or playing in the garden. Unfortunately, they did not have the patio space or the protection from the blazing hot afternoon sun to be able to enjoy their backyard like they had wanted.
When Brandy saw how much of their space was not being utilized, she knew right away how to turn their “blank canvas” into something functional, fun, and most of all enjoyable for the entire family. We started by extending the patio with concrete that was stamped and colored to mimic a flagstone look. Then we added a pergola to give protection from the afternoon sun, and created gardening beds around the entire patio space. To allow convenient movement from the back door to the gate by the driveway, and all around the gardening beds, we installed a flagstone and cinnamon gravel pathway.
With Brandy’s open concept design, the family can now enjoy a beautiful, functional extended living space with easy access to gardening beds…plus it gives the children lots of space to run and play without being in the garden. Fun for everyone!
