Angeles’s Plant Pick of the Week – Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is a lush green succulent with thick pointed leaves that store liquid. They make a very attractive houseplant and can also brighten your porch or patio when the weather is warm. It’s best to grow them in containers so they can be easily moved indoors when the temperatures drop.

Aloe Vera’s claim to fame is that it can be used for medicinal purposes in case of minor burns and scrapes. Angeles thinks every home should have at least one….she personally uses the gel from her aloe vera leaves to relieve the sting from sunburns.

This plant likes moderate to bright indirect light, and it is very water wise and will be most successful if the soil is allowed to dry out between watering.
