An upright, evergreen shrub with glossy, deep green leaves edged in bright golden-yellow that keep a cheerful splash of color in the landscape all year. Its dense, columnar habit makes it a natural for formal hedges, foundation plantings, and mixed borders, and it takes shearing well. Tough and adaptable, it handles North Texas heat and our clay soils with ease, though afternoon shade helps keep the foliage from scorching in the hottest part of summer. Needs little more than occasional pruning once established.
