Red PillarĀ® Althea
HibiscusĀ syriacusĀ 'GFNHSRP'Ā PP35332
A striking, narrow columnar Rose of Sharon bred for tight spaces where width is limited but height and privacy are wanted, such as fence lines, narrow side yards, or vertical accents in a border. Large, ruffled red-violet blooms cover the upright stems from early summer through fall, drawing hummingbirds and pollinators during the hottest part of the season. Extremely heat-tolerant and easygoing about soil, it shrugs off North Texas summers with ease and asks for little beyond an occasional shaping prune, making it a reliable, low-maintenance screening plant for DFW landscapes.
