Plant of the Week: Autumn Blaze Maple

We love this Maple for so many reasons! The Autumn Blaze Maple is a large, rounded, deciduous tree, with shiny green five-lobed leaves, that finish the season with brilliant orange-red fall color. For our area, it is hands-down one of the absolute best trees for reliable and fabulous fall color.
This tree is a cross between a red maple and a silver maple, with the best characteristics of both. It’s well-branched, more drought-tolerant (once established), and is a fast grower, reaching 50 feet tall and 30-40 feet wide. What an excellent shade tree for hot Texas summers!
