Cornus x ‘Rutcan’
Vigorous ornamental tree with tiered horizontal branches covered in showy white flower bracts in spring. Reddish new growth turns dark green in summer. Showy red berries in fall and winter attract birds.

Showy ornamental tree has an abundance of large white flower bracts in early summer. Tiered horizontal branches hold dark green leaves that turn reddish scarlet in fall.

An outstanding smaller deciduous tree with an upright, oval crown. Rosy-pink flowers are produced in spring and hang in clusters. The fruit pods that follow are black and resemble a black string of beads. Heat tolerant and grows well in alkaline soils.

Sophora secundiflora
An evergreen small tree or large shrub that is native to central Texas. It produces purple flowers that have a grape jelly scent which permeates the garden. It is heat and drought tolerant and requires little maintenance once it is established. A wonderful specimen plant that should be planted in more landscapes.
