Plant of the Week: Little Gem Magnolia

Posted on June, 02

With the same beautiful characteristics of the Southern Magnolia, the Little Gem Magnolia is a smaller and more manageable tree. It is perfect for landscapes with less space to work with, and it is a stunning specimen that fills in corners, borders, and it can also be trained as an espalier against a wall or fence with ease. It will give you long-lasting, showy flowers in the spring through early summer that are white with a sweet, enchanting aroma. When it’s not blooming, you can still enjoy its glossy green leaves, offering a rich texture to your landscape year-round.

If you’re looking for a smaller tree with a big tree vibe, this beauty checks all the boxes!
Be sure to plant in at least 6 hours of sunlight and a well-drained area using a 50/50 mix of Covington’s Soil builder mixed with native soil.
