Amanda’s Plant Pick of the Week – Red Heart Althea

Amanda’s got a big heart, which is why she chose these Red Heart Althea patio trees as her Plant Pick of the Week. Altheas (also known as Rose of Sharon) are a member of the hibiscus family, and it’s easy to see the resemblance in the flowers! And like hibiscus, you’ll get gorgeous blooms from them all summer and into fall.

This Red Heart Althea has been groomed into a patio tree (a smaller, single-trunked tree) and will only get 8’ to 10’ tall and 6’ wide. It’s perfect for tight areas in your landscape or garden, or can be potted into a large container for porches, balconies, sunrooms, etc. In addition to attracting hummingbirds and butterflies, the Red Heart is easy to care for and grows quickly, making it a perfect addition to your home. Let us show you the Red Heart Althea (and other varieties) in person, or check our inventory for quantities, sizes, and prices.
